If you’re bringing a group to Broadway on May 10, make the trip extra special by attending Stars in the Alley™! It’s a free outdoor concert in the heart of the Theatre District that every theatre lover should attend at least once in their life.
Building on the energy leading up to the Tony Awards®, the event features live performances from the most recent Broadway season and numbers from current long-running shows. Produced by the Broadway League, this year’s concert will take place on Friday, May 10 at 1:00 pm in the famed Shubert Alley (just west of 7th Avenue between 44th and 45th street.) And it will be hosted by none other than Alex Brightman, who currently stars in Broadway's Beetlejuice!
This year, participating musicals include Ain’t Too Proud, Aladdin, Be More Chill, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Beetlejuice, The Cher Show, Chicago, Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen, Frozen, Hadestown, King Kong, Kiss Me, Kate, The Lion King, Mean Girls, Oklahoma!, The Phantom of the Opera, Pretty Woman: The Musical, The Prom, Tootsie, Waitress, and Wicked with additional appearances from the casts of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Ink, and What the Constitution Means to Me.
We were at Stars in the Alley last year and had a great time watching the performances and getting to talk to some of the fans in attendance. So if you’re coming to NYC or trying to pick a day for your theatre trip, keep this totally free public concert in mind.
