Just In Time is an “utterly electrifying” (Entertainment Weekly) new musical that brings to life the story of Bobby Darin, the legendary singer whose short but remarkable journey took him from teen idol to global sensation. Developed and directed by Tony Award® winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!, Beetlejuice), with a book by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver, the show immerses audiences into an intimate nightclub “so seductive in ambiance that you find yourself not wanting to go back outside” (Chicago Tribune). Complete with iconic hits including “Beyond the Sea,” “Mack the Knife,” “Splish Splash,” and “Dream Lover,” Just In Time is “a helluva good time at the theater” (Time Out).

More About Just In Time

Here is why we at Broadway Inbound think it's a perfect show for groups:

Bringing a modern twist to the classic era of big band and swing, Just In Time promises to take Broadway audiences on a journey through the life of Bobby Darin. With Jonathan Groff as its star, this production is a tribute to a performer who lived to entertain. Groff's charisma pairs perfectly with the energetic ambiance of a live big band setting, creating a feel-good atmosphere that's hard to resist. Whether you're a long-time Broadway enthusiast or a newcomer eager to check out the latest production, this show's winning combination of Groff's compelling performance and the iconic music of Bobby Darin is bound to hit the mark.

For Just In Time, the Circle in the Square Theatre has been transformed into a dazzling nightclub. The theatre's setup, boasting two stages and a cabaret-style seating arrangement, allows for an unparalleled experience. With the band stationed on stage, audiences are not just watching a musical; they are being enveloped in the era of swing that Bobby Darin so epitomized.

Originally presented as The Bobby Darin Story at the 92nd Street Y, the show began as a series of five concerts starring Jonathan Groff. Teaming up with director Alex Timbers, music supervisor and arranger Andrew Resnick, and choreographer Shannon Lewis, they've meticulously crafted this production to capture the essence of Darin’s thrilling yet tragically short career. The result is a show that highlights what made Bobby Darin an unforgettable icon—a trip back in time in the most exhilarating way possible.
