In the midst of such a delightfully crowded Broadway season, one performer rose above the rest. In Dear Evan Hansen, Ben Platt gives a kind of performance that is destined to be the stuff of Broadway legend. Did you see Streisand in Funny Girl? Or Merman in Gyspy? What about Erivo in The Color Purple? Added to that list is a new question: Did you see Ben Platt in Dear Evan Hansen? This kind of seismic performance is all the more remarkable when you consider that Platt is just 23 years old. On Sunday night, he was rewarded for his hard work at the Tony Awards.
Though tickets to see Ben Platt are tough to get, we were lucky enough to see a performance from the musical live on the Tony Awards telecast.
