When M. Butterfly premiered on Broadway in 1988, it instantly joined the ranks of classic American plays. In the almost thirty years since, its reputation has only grown. Now, M. Butterfly is back, in a production that is sure to astound. Directed by the masterful visual storyteller Julie Taymor (director of The Lion King on Broadway), and starring Academy Award nominee Clive Owen, this production promises sumptuous excellence in every way. In an exciting development, this production will also feature new material written by David Henry Hwang, based on new details that have emerged from the real-life romance that the show depicts.
