Some like it hot, and that ain't bad! Trunk songs from Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman's Some Like It Hot will be presented by the production's orchestrators Charlie Rosen and Bryan Carter in a one-night-only concert at 54 Below May 8.
Some Like It Cut will offer a glimpse into the development process of a new musical, presenting songs that didn't quite fit in the final version of the musical, while still standing as solid pieces of material. With members of the Broadway company performing alongside the show's eight-piece horn section, the concert will be guided by Rosen on bass, Carter on the drums, and Shaiman on the keys.
Additional performers will be announced at a later date.
Adapted from the 1959 film written and directed by Billy Wilder, Some Like It Hot features a book by The Inheritance Tony winner Matthew López and Amber Ruffin and a score by Hairspray's Shaiman and Wittman, with the former providing music and both contributing lyrics.
