Robyn Hurder Extends Run in Broadway’s Chicago

Robyn Hurder has extended her stay at Chicagos Cook County Jail. Hurder, who joined the revival at the Ambassador Theatre on March 24, will now play Velma Kelly through Sept. 15. She was originally scheduled to play the principal role through June 16.

This is Hurder’s second tenure with the John Kander and Fred Ebb tuner, having briefly played Roxie in 2017 and Mona while understudying Roxie. Hurder received a Tony Award nomination for her featured turn in 2019’s Moulin Rouge! and originated the role of Marcia Murphey in A Beautiful Noise.

In addition to Hurder, the current principal cast of Chicago includes Bianca Marroquín as Roxie Hart, Max von Essen as Billy Flynn, Natasha Yvette Williams as Matron “Mama” Morton, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
