Here is why we at Broadway Inbound think it's a perfect show for groups:
The Book of Mormon is hilarious, smart, and full of surprises. Join two Mormon missionaries on their trip to Uganda as they desperately try to convert the local tribes to Christianity. On their quest, the two men will have to survive many adventures and misfortunes – including a warlord out for their heads. The show has won numerous awards, critical acclaim and the love of audiences with its hilarious jokes and heartfelt story. The Book of Mormon is a musical comedy created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The pair, best known for their work on the animated television series South Park, first met while attending the University of Colorado at Boulder. They began working on The Book of Mormon in 2008, and the show premiered on Broadway in 2011.
The creators of The Book of Mormon successfully meld pop culture with theatre, cleverly marrying elements of TV show satire with Broadway. Both in and out of the spotlight, the cast and crew breathe life and fun into this cheeky tale of adventure. The show has been getting acclaim for its quick-witted script, lively songs, and laugh-out-loud jokes. Costuming by Ann Roth and the scenic design by Scott Pask are the finishing touches that breathe life into the story.
The Book of Mormon is a terrific show to catch with friends or colleagues. The plot is fascinating, and the characters are imperfectly real and simply hilarious. However, be mindful that some of the show's content might not be suitable for viewers under 13.
