Video: Broadway Stars Celebrate John Kander's Birthday

Video

John Kander, the brilliant composer behind Chicago, Cabaret, The Scottsboro Boys, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and so many other Broadway gems, recently celebrated his 90th birthday. The festivities kicked off at Broadway's Ambassador Theatre, which is home to one of Kander's greatest musicals: Chicago. The original cast of the Chicago revival, including Joel Grey, Bebe Neuwirth, and Ann Reinking, along with the original Velma Kelly herself, Chita Rivera, all performed their favorite Kander and Ebb songs. Click here to see Playbill's photo coverage of the event, including pictures of Joel Grey singing "Willkommen" and Chita Rivera belting out "All That Jazz."

John Kander has been making musicals for decades, and the famous composer has made a lot of friends along the way. To celebrate his birthday, just a few of these friends sent along their birthday greetings. Check out the video below and see how many Broadway icons you can recognize.
