Hamilton has announced a new, incoming principal cast member. Morgan Anita Wood will join the long-running musical as Eliza Hamilton beginning on July 16 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Wood replaces Stephanie Jae Park, who will complete her run on July 14.
Wood is no stranger to Hamilton, having been an original company member of the musical’s 2019 “And Peggy” tour, in which she performed in the ensemble and understudied Eliza, Angelica Schuyler and Peggy Schuyler. She later played Eliza full-time and replaced in various Hamilton touring companies. A winner at age 12 of the CBS reality series Kid Nation, Wood also appeared in Kinky Boots at the Hollywood Bowl.
