Every year in late September the Broadway community comes together for a fan-favorite event: The Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction.
The Broadway tradition is the best time to get autographs, pictures, and all sorts of treasures from your favorite shows—and all for a good cause. Last year, the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction raised a record breaking $1,023,309 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.
This year will mark the 32nd annual Broadway Flea. I checked in with my colleague Eric, who has been coordinating the Telecharge table for the past five years, to get a sneak peek at what you might find.
From show memorabilia to opening night gifts, we’ve got an assortment of items meant to commemorate your favorite shows. Want a Finding Neverland notebook? A Newsies bobblehead? A Fiddler on the Roof shot glass? Stop by the Telecharge table this Sunday.
Playbills, Playbills, Playbills. And not just from current shows. It’s a veritable archive. In just a cursory look I found some of my favorites including Les Misérables, The Humans and Indecent. So if you lost the Playbill from your favorite show—or never got a chance to see it in the first place—you just might have a second chance to add it to your collection.
Scripts & Scores
Are there scores you could listen to forever? Do you love reading plays as much as you love watching them? The Broadway Flea is an excellent opportunity to pick up a score or a script that you’ve been meaning to add to your collection!
And that’s just a quick inventory of the Telecharge table, there will be over 50 tables total—including your favorite shows from Mean Girls to Wicked—all stocked with fun and memorable wares!
Beyond the tables you’ll find…
Autographs & Photos
The Broadway Flea is one of the best places to get autographs and photos of your favorite Broadway stars. This year, more than 80 Broadway and Off-Broadway performers will be on hand to sign memorabilia and pose for pictures.
Every year, a number of incredible items and experiences are auctioned by different shows. This year, highlights include one of the casts worn on-stage in Dear Evan Hansen and a walk-on role in Beautiful.
The Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction takes place this Sunday, September 30, 10am-7pm, in and around Shubert Alley. Happy shopping!
