When Mark Rosenblatt was getting ready to put up his play Giant, now at Broadway's Music Box Theatre, there was nervousness about how it would be received. What would audiences think of a play that explored Roald Dahl's antisemitism, while discussing the Israel-Palestine conflict? Would that be too much? Would they get run out of town?
Apparently not. After winning three Olivier Awards, including Best New Play, Giant is now nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Play and Lead Actor in a Play (for John Lithgow's commanding performance as Roald Dahl).
