Tonight, Bette Midler begins her highly-anticipated turn as Dolly Gallagher Levi in the new revival of Hello, Dolly! Just in time for tonight's first preview, we've been given our first glimpse at Midler in the famous red dress. The gown and headdress have been worn by so many famous Broadway dames: Carol Channing, Barbra Streisand, Ethel Merman, Mary Martin, Phyllis Diller, Pearl Bailey, and Madeline Kahn have all put their stamp on the role. Now, it's Bette's turn.
Hello, Dolly! is now in previews, with an official opening night scheduled for April 20, 2017. The star-studded cast includes Broadway veterans David Hyde Pierce, Kate Baldwin, and Gavin Creel.
