Here is why we at Broadway Inbound think The Metropolitan Opera is perfect for groups:

If you have never been to an opera, The Met is a great place to start! The Metropolitan Opera is one of the best-known opera companies in the world, and we think it's worth visiting New York City just to see one of The Met’s productions. The performers are world-class, with a mix of internationally-renowned opera stars and young emerging talents in every cast. The productions are meticulously staged and simply gorgeous, with beautiful costumes and unbelievable sets. The Met engages the senses in a unique way, and it is so powerful to hear and see an opera sung in its original language. The Metropolitan Opera provides performances sung in English, German, Spanish, and Italian, just to name a few.

Acoustically, The Metropolitan Opera is one of the world’s finest opera houses. The hall itself is a work of art. Within its walls, you’ll be able to hear well-established classics like La Boheme or Rigoletto, along with newer productions, and talent from all over the world, connecting cultures, languages, and techniques for your premier classical music experience. Each season there are around 200 performances of newly produced and revived pieces to bring fresh vision and interpretation to what’s already become a tradition.

Next year, in the 2022-2023 season, you’ll be able to see operas Turandot (composed by Giacomo Piccini) performed by fantastic sopranos Christine Goerke/Liudmyla Monastyrska in the leading role; Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (composed by Dmitri Shostakovich) with Maestro conductor Keri-Lynn making her Met debut; or Peter Grimes (composed by Benjamin Britten) with tenor Allan Clayton as the main protagonist.

A lot of young artists get their start with The Met’s young artist programs. A lot of them end up becoming well-known around the globe but always come back to delight the audience in the best opera space in the country.

Young singers and musicians aren’t the only way The Metropolitan Opera looks into the future. They’ve come up with a number of programs to make classical music more accessible, making the art of opera available to people around the world. The Met: Live in HD is a great example. These series of performances are shown live in top-level quality in theatres across the world, as well as broadcast on television, giving everyone an opportunity to experience the Opera, in all its glory, from the comfort of their home.

The Met Opera is easy to get to, and not just for people that live in NYC. Students, travelers, and any group can easily book 10 or more group tickets and reserve their seats in advance.

There’s nothing quite like enjoying masterpieces proven by time with a group of friends tested by time. Visiting The Met is an opportunity for a unique bonding experience for you and your group.
