On April 20, 2015 Second Stage Theater purchased its Broadway home to be dedicated exclusively to producing the work of living American playwrights.
Nearly 3 years later, on February 5, 2018, Second Stage Theater and Artistic Director Carole Rothman celebrated the official unveiling of the interior of the Hayes Theater, designed by Tony winner David Rockwell, with a lighting ceremony.
On hand for the ceremony was the cast and creative team of the upcoming Broadway production of Lobby Hero including Michael Cera, Chris Evans, Brian Tyree Henry and Bel Powley.
Lobby Hero is the story of what happens when emotions come in conflict with principles, and how choices under pressure define who we really are. The lobby of a Manhattan apartment building is much more than a waiting area for four New Yorkers involved in a murder investigation.
